The FUN theme certainly ran through our time onboard the world most popular cruiseline’s ship Carnival Dream! Carnival Dream was at the forefront of a wave of amazingly fun Carnival ships. This 130,000 tonne ship, home to a maximum of 3464 passengers and 1367 crew (that’s one crew member to every 2.5 passengers) is as good if not better than a good 4 – 5 star hotel. The choice of entertainment and dining options is outstanding and has the quality to match it too.

We have looked into the official information which the World Health Organisation have released overnight regarding the Zika Virus.

  • There should be no restrictions on travel or trade with countries, areas and/or territories with Zika virus transmission.
  • Customers who travel to areas with Zika virus should be provided with up to date advice on potential risks and appropriate measures to reduce the possibility of exposure to mosquito bites.

The advice the World Health Organisation have given in regards to the potential risks and appropriate measures is:

By using insect repellent; wearing clothes (preferably light-coloured) that cover as much of the body as possible; using physical barriers such as screens, closed doors and windows; and sleeping under mosquito nets. It is also important to empty, clean or cover containers that can hold water such as buckets, flower pots or tyres, so that places where mosquitoes can breed are removed.
