The Romantic Holiday. A place of stolen time. This is Rendezvous, St Lucia.

Whilst on my P&O cruise around the Caribbean in November/December 2016, I chose to spend my time at Rendezvous, just a 10 minute drive from the cruise terminal and the happening area of Castries.

There is no grand entrance, just a discreet reception area where there are two desks, a sofa and two smiling ladies to welcome you to the property and promptly check you in.

Prior to being taken to our room for the day, we were shown around the property by a manager. The property is compact but feels so much bigger and has all the facilities and more that you would expect of a 5 star Caribbean property including tennis courts, non-motorised water sports, a diving school, a small shop and a spa offering all the usual treatments with separate quite pool area for some quiet time.

There is a main pool including pool bar located right on the beachfront with plenty of comfy loungers to relax on and while away the day. These loungers and those on the beach itself are serviced by waiters taking drinks orders which is a really nice touch, meaning you can totally relax and only move when you choose to.

There are 3 dining options: The Terrace, The Malabar Beach Club and The Trysting Place.

The Terrace which is at the heart of the resort offering an array of buffet options including cold meats, salads, bread, hot dishes and fish caught freshly that day.

The Malabar Beach Club is Rendezvous’ “Toes in the sand” restaurant and where we ate during our time there. An intimate restaurant on the water’s edge, serving burgers, salads and light al a carte options. The food we sampled here was excellent, with a Caribbean twist and a fantastic view!

The Trysting Place is Rendezvous’ fine dining venue offering an inside setting with fine bone china, crystal and damask linen. Open for dinner 6 nights a week and serving a fusion menu influenced by the best of French and Caribbean flavours.

There are 3 bars to enjoy: The Terrace Bar, The Pool Bar and The Champagne Bar.

The Terrace Bar is the centre point for mingling whilst enjoying your favourite cocktail or other tipple in a relaxed atmosphere a few steps from the beach and ocean waves.

The Pool Bar is where you can sit in the cool waters with a tipple and have a stunning view of the ocean or relax by the pool and let the waiters take the strain in getting your drink for you.

The Champagne Bar, open only in the evenings and until the last person leaves, this is the place where every evening during happy hour, you can sample different champagnes. This air conditioned bar is normally filled with laughter and music and the place to be after dinner when others are heading to bed. I know where you will find me when I go back to stay there properly!

Even though it is a small resort, there are plenty of room types to choose from whether that be a garden view room right up to a beachfront cottage which come with a terrace and reserved loungers on the beach.

No matter which room type you choose, you won’t be disappointed as the standard of décor and furnishings is extremely high with 4 poster beds, coffee making facilities and rainforest showers, so the only thing for you to worry about is what view you would like as none of the rooms are far from the resort facilities.

This is a really lovely boutique St Lucia property, where you can truly relax, unwind and spend quality time with your loved one. Perfect for a romantic holiday in a place of stolen time.
